According to TP, he is working on WDIGM II. Is this a good thing? He gets a yes from me. This movie was a favorite of mine and like he said, "there is a lot more to say".
Where do you think it will pick it? He says he won't complete the sequel unless everyone from the original is onboard. So, that means at least everyone will make some type of appearance if this movie is made.
Let's toss some ideas. Did Shelia and Troy have a child? Was Patricia able to help everyone else's relationship but failed in her own? Did Trina's spending bankrupt Shelia's ex? Did Terry's continued visions of never having a son push him away from Diane and into the arms of someone else? Or, did Diane have a change of heart and opt for invitro fertilization? Is Angela's husband a successful football coach giving her more than she ever dreamed of?
Troy was deemed as perfect but does he have a pass? Before the couples "settled" into their roles with one another, had there ever been any "flings"? I mean I know Terry tested Kenya and determined she was his but does that mean that Diane and Gavin never slept together? Is it possible Angela really couldn't stop nagging and degrading her husband and he went back to the comforts of his ghetto baby mama? Is it possible that Trina is pregnant and the father isn't Mike?
The possibilities are endless. So, where does TP start? Think back on the original. What did you want to happen that didn't and what do you want to see in this one?
Okay, there is much to talk about on this subject. Let's get to it.

Wow that is a tall order. But I'll get back to you.

Why Did I get married? In the family way...
Terry and Dianne - Invitro with his secretary! Yes. Payback Dianne had complications. Terry spends all his time at work and with the new baby momma! Dianne's job downsided and her work suffers. Did Dianne flip? Hmmm Terry is torn between his new family member and a crowed clinic with all the babies to deliver. Now, who says folks don't have anything to do? No work, everyone home...
Sheila and Troy - Twins. She finds out that the 'view' Troy took her too was his. His father was an army man and never stayed long in many places but he fell in love with those 'sticks'. So he bought as much of it as he could. Troy gave it to Sheila in Trust for the twins after their birth.
Angela -rehab. Detox is rough and the business begins to suffer. She fights the bottle, her shaky hairstyling hands and an absent husband who seems to be spending alot of time at work too! Now what in the world could he be doing. Making money for a change?
Patricia and Gavin picks up where they left off in the kitchen and ends up in bed. Did he get his precious baby back? So what landed them in the hospital? Heart attack, stroke or something else?
Mike and Trina - another divorce after she cleans him out and finds greener pastures. Now who is in need of a rich ex wife's help? Did he turn to the bottle or did he have a revelation? Maybe that book he was talking about on the veranda helped him...
Just for starters.

Well,
With WDIGM 2, if true it is one coming to the forefront. I would like to see the issues and consequences of adultery.
I would also like to see the couples as family dealing with family issues. The adolescent years and the adoption as well as step parenting, Or dealing with mates children outside of their marriages.
How about even dealing with the true test of friendship when circumstances has changed, lives have moved on and forgiveness has to be the healing power to accept the changes in everyday life.
Just a thought.

setting: summer time in jamaica at a beautiful hotel resort
shelia's pregnant with her and troy's first baby. they now replace patricia and gavin for being the perfect couple b/c they have it all together. they still live in colorado, own the general store, troy's training to be a detective in a bigger city, ends up being requested to serve in iraq, but hasn't told shelia his decision to go.
angela's salon has gone international, she's famous, hired lots of new employees, leaves marcus to run the origianl shop in atlanta from time to time while she takes her international flights overseas to run her other businesses. keisha's pregnant with marcus' child (that's what she had to talk to him about in the last movie) and angie doesn't know (they're doing they're best to keep it from her). so far so good, since angies's always gone. marcus is also sleeping with one of the hot new employees at he atlanta salon (b/c he's "lonely").
terry and diane adopt a child with special needs, proving to be too much for terry to handle. focuses all his time and energy into work. is never home (my, how the tables have turned). diana is falling apart b/c she needs help with the child and she only adopted b/c she thought that's what terry wanted and she was feeling terry didn't love her anymore and that he would not stay with her b/c she couldn't have anymore children. diane gets depressed and loses the biggest case of her career, ultimately losing her title as partner.
gavin and patricia a slowly drifting apart b/c patty still is not sure if she's ready to have another child. gavin practically begs her until he ultimately ends up making a deal with diane.
INTRODUCING A NEW COUPLE!
david and lisa are newlyweds, and they are so head over heels in love with each other, that no one seems to notice the supicious behavior of both. their pet names and kissy faces make all the other couple sick, and then a bomb drops! lisa is the hot new employee marcus is sleeping with!
mike is there with his new girl, leaving trina in atlanta unaware (he said he's going on a business trip), until she finds out, and makes the trip to jamaica (on mike's dime) and shows up surprising everyone, especially david!
By CBW1986 - 2/11/2009 11:42 AM
And let me guess...Trina was sleeping with David and has a bun in the oven. Speaking of buns, Angela did sleep with Walter unprotected; is it possible she could be carrying Walter's child while Keisha is carrying Marcus' child?
What deal is Gavin making with Diane? Is it that they should've been together in the first place? They realize Terry and Patricia always had a selfish side and the two of them should just do what has always been in their hearts and run off together.
So, Mike can't get humbled and try to go back to Shelia? Try to break up the marriage.
Is it possible any one in that group realizes they've been living a lie, they are not the "way" they thought they were all these years.

Write, Mike needs to be the one to change and come back preaching the gospel to them all. He needs a big wakeup call.
What was Tyler's nurse name? She needs to get married and find out her husband is sterile and but wants her to have her hearts desire, children. She asks her boss for a huge favor, share parentage. All that time at the office and away from home, close proximity... May not neet invitro.
By Becky - 2/11/2009 3:40 PM
I see this movie starting with the day Patty had the accident and what she didn't do to the car seat. And Angela meeting up with Walter, Sharon crying after her procedure and Sheila standing in her hotel bathroom with a bottle of pills. The sub-title of the show could be, Why did I get married? The forbidden fruit. That forbidden fruit can be anything for different persons and clearly was that for each of these women and more.
By Becky - 2/11/2009 3:46 PM
Becky, I hadn't thought about Nurse Pam. Yes, her football husband could be sterile and she ask Terry to father her child. Better yet, Mr. football could knowingly be sterile and not shared that information with Pam; only to find out she is pregnant and knowing it is not his, he is blackmailing Terry to keep the news from reaching Diane. Or, it could start off with Terry and Diane actually being happy and making things work and Pam (broken up from the football player) starts to look at the Dr. in a different way. Hence, making her move.

Sounds like a soap opera with some straight drama... LOL.
However I think some of the ideas are good as long as it stays in concept with the first showing some love, first off for the four couple friends.
Except now it is Sheila and Troy.
Patricia and Gavin,
Diane and Terry
...and Marcus separates from Angela due to the fact she won't stop drinking like she promises. When the couples return, all are trying to help Marcus and Angela situation again.
Patricia invites Angela and Gavin invites Marcus without them knowing their friends are trying to keep the bond together among them all.
Diane with the adoption sounds great, however it is putting a strain on Terry because she starting back to working more again. She shares it Patricia in who in turn tells her she needs some time to tell Terry how she feels.
Patricia is trying to get pregnant again, but is not telling Gavin the reason for the vacation time.
And Sheila is pregnant with her and Troy's first child however she has morning sickness and ends up having the twins on the trip.

Miranda,
We have to have some drama, they need a reason to have a scene similiar to that dinner scene in the first one "I slept with Walter, I got my shot, I was just waiting on you, Bamm", LOL. You know that was classic.
By Write - 2/12/2009 6:07 AM
True that. LOL True that.
Write, you are RIGHT! (Smile)
I agree, but WDIGM had some class. It was elegant and intriguing. You can't make it like everyone else... you have to make sure it has TP's (Tyler Perry's flavor) master touch in addition to flow of the first WDIGM.

"And let me guess...Trina was sleeping with David and has a bun in the oven." no. in my version either trina was sleeping with david (but is not pregnant), or she recognized him from the gay clubs. i haven't quiet worked that out yet.
"Speaking of buns, Angela did sleep with Walter unprotected; is it possible she could be carrying Walter's child while Keisha is carrying Marcus' child?" in my version no, angie's not preggo.
"What deal is Gavin making with Diane? Is it that they should've been together in the first place? They realize Terry and Patricia always had a selfish side and the two of them should just do what has always been in their hearts and run off together." no, but that's an idea. but in my version the deal they make is for diane to give her adopted child to gavin b/c he REALLY wants a kid. they talk about it and become closer while comforting each other (hmmm...)
"So, Mike can't get humbled and try to go back to Shelia? Try to break up the marriage." no. in my version, mike is just as selfish and arrogant as he was before. is not really fazed by trina just popping up, and tries not to cause a scene with her like she's trying to do (he walks away, much like in the first movie when the fellas were making fun of him at patty's banquet), but when he gets back to atlanta for a annual checkup, finds out that he's sterile, which humbles him real quick. it's a huge wake up call, that he's not all that and starts to put his life in perspective. before he thought he was just lucky not to have gotten any women pregnant (as much as he sleeps with them), but now he's really taking a look at what he life is really worth.
"Is it possible any one in that group realizes they've been living a lie, they are not the "way" they thought they were all these years."
terry turns into a workaholic like diane
patty realizes she doesn't have to be perfect and if she's not ready to have another child b/c she's not over what happened to the last one, than that's her business. she gets a little more fierce and aggressive (like angie)
diane humbles down due to spending so much time with gavin's softspoken and easy going nature
marcus works harder at working hard but works overtime to keep his secrets.
angie is turning into diane (a workaholic) and when she finds out diane has lost her title, pumps the brakes real hard and real quick
troy is still a good guy, who can't find a way to tell his new wife his bad news
shelia is still a good woman (as she's always been), but will her fear of losing another husband, turn her into a controlling one?
the title: WHY AM I STILL MARRIED?
the explosive scene:
the girls go out for a night on the town (jamaica style) and end up getting really drunk.
again secrets come out.
shelia, b/c she's pregnant and can't drink, keeps an eye on the other girls, but soon loses control, b/c the girls get wild.
diane gets really drunk and loud claiming that terry doesn't love her anymore and why should she stay in a loveless marriage. and talking about how she wants a divorce all up on the table and stuff. patricia tries to calm her down, but gets emotional and starts to cry b/c she says if terry and diane get a divorce then that means her and gavin would have to get a divorce (she's tipsy to, mind you), angie's drinking heavily again (no surprise) and saying how she may as well stayed overseas at her other salons b/c marcus ain't worth nothing
lisa (with her drunk self, coming off the dance floor) says, "oh, he's worth more than you know."
"what?! How would you know?" angela asks
"Oooooo" says diane, slurring her words, says "yeah, how would you know?
lisa starts to laugh
"no, trick! ain't nothing funny (gets in her face)
"angela!" sheila yells
"you know what?" *hiccup* i think we should all just get divorces." diane says
lisa and angie are seconds away from fighting, when gavin, terry, and troy show up (no mike, marcus, or david)
terry tries to get diane off the table
diane is resists saying. "you don't love me, i don't know why you came here for me"
"maybe because i DO love you diane, now get down." terry says.
"no! you don't love me b/c i can't have kids anymore. you don't love me." diana keeps saying really loud.
"you're making it real hard to, right now, diane." terry says
"well let me make it easier." diana says getting down off table and stands stands really close to terry (much like he did her in the first movie when he said he's moving out.) i want a divorce." and walks out.
terry left speechless.
sheila goes after diane but is stopped by troy
"sheila, come on. let's go." troy says
"no, i have to go check on her." sheila says
"no, i think we need to leave." troy says
"troy, i'll be okay. shelia insists
"we need to talk, shelia."troy says getting a bit louder
sheila looks at him strange and says slowly, "no we don't. not right now." turns to leave
"i'm leaving for iraq monday morning." troy finally says

Miranda,
For sure, definitely need to keep it classy but surely he will find a way to work in some drama as only TP can.

I can't wait for this one! Especially with all of the original characters. I can't wait to see what happens with Mike and Trina. I won't try to write it because I'm sure Tyler already has in mind the direction he wants to going being the brilliant talented man that he is.
By Unknown - 2/15/2009 9:42 AM
Write it just in case he isn't thinking it and this might spark him to do so. If nothing else, you writing the scenario will give the rest of us a chance to ponder it.

Yes, Tyler Perry to me is inspired by his fans. He takes in suggestions and ideas and expounds on them with his own "Flavor" to the screen.
Sharing ideas is good...
It is better to give than receive.

CBW1986,
And just how will Terry react to the kid being given to Gavin? So, will Gavin be a single parent with Patricia's new "me" attitude or they will stay together? Interesting.
By Write - 2/16/2009 9:50 AM
write,
well, gavin and diane are becoming closer just thinking about and talking about the idea (sharing very intimate deatils about themselves spark attraction and passion). terry has become a workaholic and isn't home enough to notice the time his wife and his friend are spending together, nor does he know of the "plans" gavin and diane are making. when diane asks terry for a divorce, terry gives her one, but fights for full custody of kenya (their biological daughter) and their adopted son, but the courts inform him that he can't have custody of a child that's not his (diane, behind his back, destroyed the paperwork and adopted the kid as a single person) diane is all set to give up her parental rights to both children (if that means she can have her job title back), but now gavin and patrica are beginning to work things out between them, leaving diane divorced and a single mother. when terry finds out all about diane's and gavin's plan, he uses that against her in court, and she loses both children. patricia also finds out and wants to leave gavin, but discovers she's pregnant, and doesn't want to be alone.

Dang, poor Diane.
By Write - 2/16/2009 3:29 PM
she'll be alright. she made her bed, now she has to lay in it. not everything has a happy ending, but i'll think of one just for her, b/c i liked her the most, b/c she played tyler's wife and had a "bedroom" scene with him!
